I’m excited to announce that I will be presenting at NCTE’s upcoming annual convention on November 19-22 in Philadelphia. I will share details about when and where you can find my presentations once I have them.
Session 1: GSEA’s Roundtable—Innovate & Illuminate: Expanding Queer and Trans Possibilities in English Education
My part of the session is called “From Erasure to Imagination: Teaching LGBTQIA+ History Through Literacy and Joy.” It will focus on how I revised a unit on LGBTQIA+ literature and history in my cross-curricular Social Justice course to center resistance and joy.
Session 2: Where Words Become Witness: Imagining Justice Across Literature and History
This is a poster session in which I’ll share how I’ve structured my Social Justice course. I’m looking forward to chatting with folks about this class.
Session 3: Deceptively simple, authentically meaningful: Discover practical tools for student-driven, inquiry-based primary source learning (Using the Question Formulation Technique)
This session is with the Right Question Institute. I’ve written about using the QFT on this blog before, and I’m excited to work with RQI again.
