Who would you like to see start blogging?
I would love to see Jim Burke and Carol Jago start blogging. Both have contributed so much interesting dialogue to the field of English Education that I can’t see how they can fail to be excellent bloggers. Of course, there is that sticky problem of how much time they already devote to their careers…
For starters, I’d love to see blogs from Howard Gardner of multiple intelligences fame, and the great sci-fi author Ray Bradbury.
Dear Dana, How do I major in English and not become a high school English teacher? Inquiringly yours, A college English major PS: Blogs from Chuck Palahniuk and David Sedaris would be pretty fantastic, too.
I liked the question. Immediately, I thought of Robert Fulghum, an author I have always enjoyed and who helped me figure out how to write an essay. Those are both excellent choices. For some reason, I didn’t even think of creative writers. What’s wrong with me? I’ll bet Stephen King and Kurt Vonnegut would be good reads, too.
Brandon, I’ve been told there are lots of things one can do with an English major, but I’m not sure I believe it.
